Cubmaster Allan Schreier |
A new twist this year will be assistance from the Cub Scouts of Pack 19 in Belle Fourche. After hearing from Cubmaster Allan Schreier, Lions voted unanimously in favor of allowing the young scouts to assist by helping bus tables for the event.
"It's a great way for these youngsters to learn the importance of public service," said Schreier. "They can see first-hand how adults, like the Lions, give back to their community in a variety of ways."
Lion Tom Grimmond from Tea, South Dakota, was a guest, too. A member of the Sioux Falls Downtown Lions Club since 1995, Grimmond served as its President in 2004. He's also a Past Council Chairman and a Past District Governor.

This year, Lion Grimmond is seeking to represent Lions Multiple District 5 on the Lions International Board of Directors. He outlined the process for election of International Directors. He then asked for support of the Belle Fourche Lions Club at the MD5 convention in Watertown.
